Who we are

We aim to improve secondary school education for young people in rural Kenya.  We are a student based organisation, working in direct partnership with schools and developing their capacity for self led growth.  This is primarily achieved through equipping schools with a solid resource base, and also through supporting a wider, more holistic programme.

In 2009, Kenya Education Partnerships directly invested over £17,800 in ten rural secondary schools. Over £8000 of the money was spent on library books and £5000 on science equipment, and ensuring there were suitable libraries and laboratories in which to store and use these resources.  The remainder was spent on improving the physical infrastructure of schools, for example installing water tanks, and on running events such as sports days, health information days and careers events.

After a series of successful summers, involving brilliant teams of Project Workers, an increasing number of carefully selected Kenyan schools and a great investment of time and money, KEP is now a registered NGO in Kenya.

The summer of 2009 has proven another success, with our return to Kenya after a summer spent working in Ugandan schools, following the political instability in Kenya in 2008.
